Wimi Ice Cream

Was around the area when I came across Wimi so I and decided to get Coconut ice cream.

Thai Coconut Ice Cream ($5.20). Coconut ice cream with 3 normal toppings cost $4.90 but I had a premium topping red ruby so there was an extra charge for swapping with a normal topping. Normal topping + $0.50, Premium + $0.80. The coconut ice cream seriously tasted like coconut flesh except that it was colder. The ice cream was also mildly sweet so it's okay for old folks as well. The red ruby was crunchy and helped add sweetness. Overall it was like a coconut that was placed in a freezer in a good way.

Sukho Thai (China Square Central)

Finally got to go out with GF after a suppppeeeeer long time. We were around the area cause we just went to Sia Huat and we were super hungry. We saw this shop, Sukho Thai and decided to eat here.

Red Tom Yum Seafood with Rice/Noodle ($6.90). Like I said we were really hungry so some rice got eaten before I took the photo. We got the red tom yum cause the chef said it was the spiciest one. The soup was quite good, slightly spicy, tangy and sweet with taste of seafood.

Thai Basil Chicken Rice ($5.90). Basil chicken is one of my favorite Thai dish. I was a little disappointed with it as it the sauce tasted very Chinese-like. Other then that it was not bad.

Mango Glutinous Rice ($6.00). We were really lucky. It was the last mango that the shop had available. Hot sticky rice topped with chilled sliced mangoes and drizzled with coconut milk, another one of my favorites. The plain glutinous was really hot (not kidding) and it went well with the sweet coconut milk and the firm, fresh and sweet mango.

Nam's Brewing Thai Tea & Coffee

I read a few review that wrote about how good Nam's Brewing Thai Tea & Coffee was so I decided to try it out for myself since I love Thai Milk Tea.

We arrived and true enough there was a queue which shows that their Thai milk tea must be really good. Good thing the queue move relatively fast.

There are 6 thai tea/coffee available in their menu. There was Thai milk tea and Thai milk tea Extra Gold. Ed asked the cashier and she told us that Extra Gold had a stronger tea taste.

Their decor is really cute. There's also a small note that tells you to be environmentally friendly.

Thai milk green tea ($2.80) & Thai milk tea ($2.80). The Thai green tea surprisingly was a lot more better than the Thai milk tea. It had just the right amount of sweetness that tasted a little like honey while the Thai milk tea was a little thin and needed a little more sugar. Maybe should have gotten the Extra Gold that is thicker.

At the back of the cup you can read about their history. Overall if I were to go back again I would definetely order the Thai milk green tea!

Cafe Pal

Recently I'm crazy over Thai Milk Tea so when I heard about the reviews of Cafe Pal, I knew I had to try it.

Cafe Pal specializes in casual Thai cuisine and most people talk about their Thai Milk Tea when they dine there.

Thai Milk Tea ($3)- Quite milky but not too sweet Thai milk tea with not so intense flavor. Edmund had with Aloe Vera extra $0.50 which didn't really go well together. On a side note, the takeaway bottle looks nice.

Mata Thai

My mom and I wanted to eat thai food so we settled for Mata Thai which was nearby.

Thai Iced Milk Tea($1.50)- I love thai milk tea a lot and somehow it's hard to describe how it taste like. The closest description is that it taste like milk tea with some grass jelly taste. The milk tea here was a little too sweet for me.

Pineapple Fried Rice ($6)- Was a little disappointed when the rice came on a plate instead of in a pineapple like the one shown in the picture. Taste wise, it was disappointing. Tasted like normal fried rice with pieces of pineapple. Rice was a little too moist(slightly mushy also). However my mom was okay with the taste.

Tom Yum Seafood ($8)- So cool that there's like a clay like thingy with fire to warm the soup. Soup was quite good(although not the best, it still had some thai tom yum taste to it). It was spicy and acidic(I'm drooling while thinking back of how it tasted) It came with prawns, squid and mushrooms. The prawns were quite big(bigger than shrimps). My mom really like the soup. Better to drink the soup while the fire is burning cause when the soup is cold is ain't as nice as it was.(it also becomes saltier from the continuous bubbling evaporation)

Yam Ring ($10)- This was one of the chef's recommendation there. We ordered it cause it felt weird to order just 1 rice and soup. Anyway, I didn't like this dish at all!(my mom agrees as well) No offense, not that it tasted bad or anything. It was just that it tasted too Chinese(since I was in a thai restaurant I wanted thai food).

Mango Sticky Rice ($4)- Warm, slightly sweet and very slight salty rice topped with slightly cold, slightly sweet and slightly sour mango and drizzled with coconut milk. I liked it very much. A nice ending for our meal.

I think that this place serves food that are worth what I pay and I don't mind coming back here again for their tom yum soup and mango sticky rice.
