Minora Cuisine Pte Ltd

Was near Mustafa so my parents and I decided to eat at Minora for dinner.

They served us some crackers at the start. Crispy and nice.

Butterfly Prawn ($15.50)- Prawns tasted like frozen prawns. Liked that the prawn's tail was wrapped with aluminium foil which prevented my hands from getting dirty.

Chicken Briyani ($8.90)- The rice was really good- fluffy and tasty. Chicken on the other hand was a big let down, it was overcooked. There was also a hard boiled egg inside. Recommend you to buy the briyani rice alone.

Garlic Naan ($3) & Cheese Naan ($3.50)- Each naan consisted of 4 slices. For the garlic, the taste of it was there but not too overpowering which was good. The cheese naan was nice, melted cheesey goodness. Goes really well with the curry.

Fish Head Curry (M) ($23)- My first time eating curry fish head. The curry has just the right amount of spiciness, saltiness and sweetness. To our surprise there was more meat on the fish head than we had expected. Really worth the money.

Nice place for dinner and they do serve good food but choose wisely.

Tai Parfait

Can't believe I have time for this. Anyway, I was at Bugis with ZQ and we past by this shop called Tai Parfait. It seems so cool. Basically the concept of the shop is a fushion dessert which has taiyaki, filling(chocolate, custard, matcha, azuki or custard cream) and toppings. Taiyaki is made using a batter(can be pancake, waffles, etc) and poured into a fish-shaped mold. The end result is a fish-shaped pancake which originates from Japan.

I bought the Matcha and Azuki with Custard fillling ($4.90). The azuki, matcha and custard cream consistency was quite thick, thicker than nutella spread and was mildly sweet. The ice cream had a nice vanilla flavor and you could see all the vanilla see in the ice cream. The taiyaki was warm, crispy on the outside and chewy like mochi on the inside. Something unique that I have never tried before.

Sugarloaf

Sugarloaf is located at Temasek Polytechnic inside the Temasek Culinary Academy(TCA) building. Sugarloaf is a casual bistro-cafe which serves pastries, cakes, mains and beverages. When you step in to Sugarloaf a resounding 'Welcome to Sugarloaf!' can be heard.

The Mudslide Cookie ($2)- a super rich chocolate cookie with chocolate chips and chocolate chunks, about 55% chocolate. I love the cookie, chocolatey but yet not so sweet. The cookie is also chewy, something like subway cookie except a bit more dense and less sweet. The chocolate is really rich so you should share it with another person.
The Chocolate Eclair ($2.50)-choux pastry filled with a chocolate cream and topped with well tempered chocolate ganache and tiny ball decoration . The filling inside was chocolate cream which was light and a little chocolatey. The eclair also look pretty with the decoration on top of it.

Strawberry Tart ($3)-lovely strawberries with pistachio nuts on top of a savoury tart.
The Mango Mousse Cake ($3)-alternate layers of mango mousse and sponge cake. The acidity from the mango bits in the mango mousse and sweetness from the thin layer of cake was a nice combination. The dark chocolate decoration on it also complimented the cake.
