Yayoiken (313 Somerset)

Had lunch with GF and Seb at Yayoiken.

Yayoiken is a casual Japanese restaurant that serves affordable Teishoku, which means 'meal set' in Japanese. Their set usually consists of rice, miso soup, main dish and a side dish on a tray. That said, they do also have an a la carte menu for people who do not want a set meal.

Located next to the table was a device where you could order your food and even a glass of water.

I got the Mix Toji set ($13.90 + $1.90)- Sliced pork, fried prawn and pork cutlet topped with egg set which came with rice, cold tofu and miso soup. I upgraded my miso shiru to kajiru(Japanese soybean soup with clams) for additional $1.90 which wasn't served as hot as my friend's miso soup ): At least there were free flow of 'tsukemono' pickles at each table.

Rate:
Mix Toji set: 5/10 ☺
